我送给妈妈的感恩节礼物——早餐。
那天我早早的就起床了，穿好衣服，刷了牙，洗完脸，我就跑进厨房。我先把鸡蛋拿出来，然后开火，把锅烧热，再倒几滴油，把蛋壳打破一点，再从破的地方把它掰开，倒进锅里，再把火开小，等它慢慢地煎熟。煎熟了，我把鸡蛋放进盘子里，飘出了浓浓的鸡蛋香味。
我想给妈妈做一个爱心鸡蛋，但是家里没有模具，只好用刀把鸡蛋切成爱心，再把爱心的其它部分切出来。
我做了一个三角体，在上面写下“妈妈感恩节快乐！”放在盘子的上方。
妈妈起床后，来到餐桌前，我就蹦出来对妈妈说：“祝妈妈感恩节快乐！这是我给您的感恩节礼物——早餐。”“宝贝，你为什么要给我做早餐？”妈妈看见我做的早餐大吃一惊。“因为妈妈上班很辛苦，这周的周四是感恩节，我就给您做了这个爱心煎蛋。”我给妈妈解释。妈妈听了激动得流下了眼泪。今天可真是一个令人难忘的早上啊！

美国人过感恩节，有点像中国人过春节，是全家人团聚的日子。平时美国人不讲究吃，但在感恩节却是个例外，而且在习俗上还一定要大嚼火鸡。这与感恩节来历的另一种传说有关：那时北美人的祖先移居到新大陆，初登陆就遇到农业歉收，又受到当地土著印第安人的仇视。正值寒冬来临，移民们以为在劫难逃，就听天由命；不料在这绝望之际，从远处飞来了一大群火鸡，这才使他们绝处逢生。人们一直以为是上帝给他们恩施火鸡渡过难关，因而为“感”此“恩”，形成吃火鸡以纪念的习俗。
火鸡即“吐绶鸡”（MeleagrisGallopavo），又称“七面鸟”，体高大，公鸡体重12至18公斤，母鸡8至9公斤，年产蛋60至70个，蛋重75至80克。今北美洲尚有野生者，但已不多矣。
值得一提的是，对感恩节的大嚼火鸡，美国伟大作家马克吐温曾大发幽默，他写道：“让所有人捐赠出恭顺的、真诚的、衷心的谢意”，而不是对火鸡的“大屠杀”。感恩节吃火鸡岂非是对火鸡的“恩将仇报”？
