近十年，大学在校生转专业在我国高校不是什么新鲜事儿了，而且多数高校对此持赞同态度。

有的学校干脆不设转专业的门槛，允许学生自由转专业，像中国农业大学、电子科技大学等，但大部分高校对转专业设有门槛。如吉林大学要求学院按专业对申请转专业学生第一学期的成绩进行排序，择优推荐，有课程不及格的学生不能报名;具备报名资格学生还要参加转专业笔试和面试。

一项调查结果显示，在一万名受访者中，71.2%的人表示“如果有可能，想重新选择一次专业”，67%的受访者表示并不了解自己所选的专业，更有67.9%的人承认在报考专业时是“盲目的”。

毕业于武汉科技大学中南分校的小马在大三时从电信专业转到工商管理专业读大二。谈到转专业的原因，他说，高考填志愿时，他对自己要报的专业没有清晰的认识，更不了解自己喜欢学什么。家人替他选择了看起来就业前景不错的电信专业，但两年中，小马始终未能“爱”上这个专业，甚至有多门功课考试不及格。

专业课程一般包括公共课、专业基础课、专业课等，其中专业基础课和专业课是一个专业的核心课程，从中可基本了解该专业的培养方向，即在大学期间学习哪些课程，这些知识会应用到哪些行业等。同时，考生还能以此判断自己是否具备学习该专业的能力。如土木工程专业，其主干课有理论力学、结构力学、土力学、钢筋混凝土、房屋建筑学、钢结构、大跨度结构设计等。对数学、物理学科的要求是比较高的，如果考生一看到物理就头疼就不太适合报该专业。
